Life Lessons to Unlearn

One thing I realized in the recent years of my life is that many of my views in life are leaning towards negativity. And I know that this isn’t a rare case, especially when it comes to problems, failures, and other similar things in our lives that seem to naturally connote not-so-positive ideas. It may be because of culture, experiences, and other factors around us. But whatever’s the reason, I’m glad that I’ve had the chance to unlearn such negative concepts that have kept me from fully enjoying a lot of the things that were coming my way.

I still dread every problem that arrives, but I now have the courage to tell myself to stop, take a deep breath, and think of it as a challenge that will make me a better person afterwards.

I read this article recently about certain thoughts that don’t help us at all if we want to be happier – ideas in our minds that we just need to let go. And I do find it fascinating that many of these ideas are quite universal. Sharing with you this article so you’ll learn what you need to unlearn - 10 Life Lessons You Should Unlearn.

I started to have a more positive outlook after I had begun to see more humor in my life and around me. I started to appreciate more of the things that come my way. And I started to feel like I’m more capable of facing my challenges.

I’m fortunate to be married to a man who may not be perfect, but has a sense of humor that fits mine perfectly. And if it’s true that laughter, as what people say, gives you a healthier, happier life, then I say, “Bring it on!”

And if you want to have more smiles and laughs in your life, here are some ideas that are quite easy to practice – 19 Ways to Enhance Your Sense of Humor.

How to Be in a Good Mood Instantly

Do something you love that you haven’t done for quite some time. That’s my tip! Not as difficult as you think and as enjoyable as you want it to be.

I’ve always loved reading and dancing. But for quite some time now, I haven’t read any work of fiction and I also haven’t gone to any dance class. Working from home, taking care of my little girl, and other duties have taken up my time. I know – excuses, excuses.

Anyway, I’ve missed both so much. But recently, I had the chance to pick up Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist and I’ve started doing Zumba at home. How they’ve both revived me!

Now, just like during those years when I’ve got lots of time in my hands, I’m craving for a lot more fiction books. The creativity that this type of reading triggers in me is just exciting every time. And when I’m sleepy or feeling lazy, I just do a  few minutes of Zumba moves and I’m up and about again.

Any hobby or interest of yours that you’ve been missing? Go ahead and do it again. And see how it will renew your body, mind, and spirit.
