Challenge Update #2 (And My 4 Days in London)

I rarely ever miss posting on a Monday, but I have a good excuse. I’m writing this from my hotel, drinking brandy and coke (which is ridiculously strong. The girl who poured it is foreign and can’t believe people mix the two) and feeling absolutely shattered. I would have gone to the pub but quite honestly, I can’t be bothered to walk.

Judging by that intro, you can tell I have broken my challenge. I went two weeks and one day without touching a drop of alcohol, but meeting friends that I haven’t seen in 9 months turned things around. I will go back to my no drinking after today.

How I Operate Online (A.K.A My First Video)

Hey guys, today I’m pretty excited to share my first ever video. I actually hadn’t planned on doing one but my Macbook Pro arrived a couple of days ago so I wanted to test out Screenflow (I normally use Camtasia, for Windows).

The video covers which software I use on my computer and how I set-up my web browser for my online projects. If you’re not a blogger or don’t care much for making money online, you might want to skip this post. For everyone else, I hope you enjoy it.

Breaking Free: Challenge Update #1

I’m currently on day 8 of my challenge to remove all of the restraints and time wasters in my life (television, IM, idle web surfing, alcohol etc) and I have to say, things are going very well. I’m finally happy with what I’m managing to get done each day and my productivity is through the roof.

I actually can’t believe it has been over a week already. It seems only yesterday that I wrote the original blog post. If the following five weeks go this fast, this challenge could turn out to be a lot easier than I expected.

Give Me 2 Minutes, And I’ll Give You a Better PluginID

Hey guys, I hope you’re all having a fantastic Sunday / Monday. Just a quick post from me today which is mostly a request. I would appreciate for anyone who has two minutes spare to take some time out and answer this three question survey.

I had the idea of doing a reader survey thanks to this post by Chris Guillebeau, and thought that it would be a great idea to see what you all really think of the site. I’ve never done anything like this before, so I’m very interested to see what insights and ideas the feedback gives me.

Ask Me Anything For the Next 24 Hours

When I first decided I was going to try and make a living online, I knew that I wanted to focus on creating passive income rather than income which was directly related to how much I worked. It was important to me that I didn’t just create an online job for myself, but a business which doesn’t require me to be around at all times, and still makes money.

Because of that, PluginID is pretty much the only site I run where I have to deal with people. It’s certainly not a chore though; I love it. With that being said, despite how many sites and services I run, I really don’t have to deal with emails or support all that much.

My Favourite Blogs (All 12 of Them)

In a comment recently I mentioned how I only subscribe to around 15 other blogs (now 12) and just focus on my own writing rather than worry about what other people are putting out there. I was surprised to receive a few emails asking exactly what those sites were that make it onto my small list.

I thought it would be a good idea to share what they are today. I had planned on adding my favourite books here as well but once I considered the size of the post and the quality resources shared, I decided to save my book recommendations for another post.

The Day I Found 4 Naked, 40+ Men, In My Apartment

Note from Glen: This is the first in a series where I’m sharing funny, exciting, or just plain weird stories from my life. There is little ‘value’ to be had in the personal development sense but I think I have some interesting tales to share.

For my first few weeks in Cape Town I lived in Long Street, the party centre of South Africa’s capital city. I stayed directly above a bar and the noise from below drove me crazy during the week, but the location was ideal on weekends. My boss’ brother owned the place which he rented out, but after 2 weeks there, I had to make way for other tenants and find a new place to stay.

PluginID Turns One! Baie Dankie

I can’t believe that I’m writing this post exactly one year after launching the site, but I am, and I’m celebrating. Baie dankie simply means thank you very much in Afrikaans; a fitting phrase since I launched and ran the site for 6 months in Cape Town, South Africa.

I wasn’t totally sure what a blog post announcing this anniversary should include, so I decided to follow my general rule of thumb: write blog posts that you would want to read. And, when a site reaches a milestone, the thing I want to read about…is statistics.

Cloud Living: Freedom, Expression, and Financial Abundance

Today I am very excited to announce the launch of Cloud Living. This is something I have been working on for the past few months and is finally complete. I’ve definitely enjoyed the process of putting this together but it is so much sweeter to have a finished result.

For those of you who don’t know, Cloud Living is the term I have ‘coined’ for the lifestyle that I live. I earn money from the Cloud (Internet) and make enough to be free from corporate slavery and literally do whatever I want. It is a lifestyle I had dreamed about and now, just like I did, I’m going to show you how to make it a reality.

Cloud Living Contents

The size of this project is huge and by far the biggest thing I have ever put together. I enlisted the services of a professional copywriter before launch to ensure the end result is a polished product.

The course mainly comes...

72 Hours Until the Launch of ‘Cloud Living’

I wrote the introduction of this blog post 4 times before I settled with what you’re reading right now. I found no elegant way to explain how nervous and excited I am at the same time. Instead I took the not-so-professional approach and decided to tell you that I had no idea what to say. The only thing that really matters here, is the title.

There are 72 hours until my first premium product through PluginID launches. In part, I’ve been working on this project for months by releasing mini guides which received both good and bad feedback. I then incorporated this into a finished version. I’ve conducted interviews with some of the brightest minds and I’ve dug deep inside to make sure I pull out something that I only want to refer to as….incredible.
