Today I am very excited to announce the launch of Cloud Living. This is something I have been working on for the past few months and is finally complete. I’ve definitely enjoyed the process of putting this together but it is so much sweeter to have a finished result.
For those of you who don’t know, Cloud Living is the term I have ‘coined’ for the lifestyle that I live. I earn money from the Cloud (Internet) and make enough to be free from corporate slavery and literally do whatever I want. It is a lifestyle I had dreamed about and now, just like I did, I’m going to show you how to make it a reality.
Cloud Living Contents
The size of this project is huge and by far the biggest thing I have ever put together. I enlisted the services of a professional copywriter before launch to ensure the end result is a polished product.

As you can probably tell, this wasn’t just some project that was put together in a rush. My Current Situation
If you don’t know much about my background, let me give you a quick rundown. In 2007 I was doing college courses I hated and had a part-time job in a clothes store. At the time I was also running an Internet marketing blog and after getting ‘noticed’ for my expertise in the area, I was offered a job in Cape Town (South Africa) to work as the social media manager for multiple Fortune 100 companies.
That was it. At 18, I quit college, quit my job, and left the UK for hotter climates. While living and working in South Africa, I used the spare time I had to start building websites again and even created this blog. Through a culmination of my blogging activities and my affiliate websites, I was earning enough money to work for myself so I quit my job in January 2009.
I’m now back in the UK and I have been “jobless” for almost 6 months. Don’t worry though, I’m now making a tidy 5-figure income (in dollars) every month online. I have also just booked a 3 month holiday to Amsterdam with one of my best friends and after that I plan on travelling to both India and Argentina. For a 20 year old college dropout – in this economy – I’m quite proud of my achievements.
Cloud Living is my way of saying: you can do the same. And trust me, you really can. I’ve watched people work with only half of the information given in this guide and manage to make thousands of dollars online.

“More Specifics, Please!”
Ah, so you want to know more about what is actually in the guide? That’s not a problem. Before we get on to that, I want to mention that this guide is written with the total beginner in mind. Whether you’ve never even registered a domain or you run sites already, this guide will be educational. If any of the following terms confuse you then don’t stress as they are all explained in more detail in the guide.
The introduction includes information about my current life situation and then why your current life situation is as it is. From there, the course veers off into two directions: Minisites and Blogs. These are the two ways I make money online and I show you how to be successful with both. (Note: You don’t have to do both, you can just focus on one and still make a lot of money).
After this, I share my simple productivity guide which enabled me to make all of this money while working a full-time job and partying 5 nights per week.
Minisites
Minisites are basically small websites which are created to promote products or services as an affiliate. Working as an affiliate means that you don’t have to create anything or even handle any stock, you simply send people to a website through your affiliate link and you make a commission if they purchase anything.
I make around 40 – 50% of my income with this method and right now I do absolutely nothing to sustain my income. Minisites take about 2 weeks to set up and promote properly but once that is done, you can practically leave them for good and they’ll continue to make money.
Blogs
If you don’t know what a blog is then take a good look around this website because you’re reading one. Blogs are content based websites and typically on a certain topic rather than just general ramblings. Around half of my income is from blogs (I run three) and the monetisation options I have in place.
This section shares my story with blogging and how it enabled me to both make $20,000 in 4 months and land my dream job. In addition to the content I released in BloggingBlueprint about creating a blog and generating traffic, this section also covers my actual website statistics and where my visitors come from. Finally, I’ve added a detailed section on blog monetisation and how to turn your content into income.
Interviews
Although I like to think of my personal story as inspirational, my ego really isn’t too big to fail to see that other people have been successful in this area. In the guide I include an interview with a friend of mine, Jonathan Fields. Jonathan is the author of Career Renegade which is a book about getting paid to do what you love – definitely my kind of thing.
Also included is an interview with a blogger who is quickly rising to fame, Chris Guillebeau. Chris is the blogger behind The Art of Nonconformity and has never actually had a job in his life. He generates all of his income online and is currently on a mission to visit every single country in the world – talk about a perfect example of Cloud Living!
Productivity
The guide concludes with a solid overview of my current productivity strategy. It is probably one of the simplest productivity strategies you will ever come across but I believe its simple nature is why it works so well. In my experience, people tend to adopt productivity methods that are so complex that they need other productivity methods to keep up with the first one.
My section here is nothing like that. Instead, I share the two most important ideas I’ve implemented into my life which help me to get more done. These are polished versions of the tactics I used to work on projects when I was in a 9-6 job and was partying 5 nights per week. Their core elements also worked well for me when I was in college 5 days per week and had a job that took up my whole weekend.

Glen, just want to say, I got a copy of this last night and I spent the whole night reading it cover-to-cover. Guys, this is incredible.
Cloud living is I’m sure the most straight-to-the-point, effective manual on how to create a living from providing a service on the internet. While other “guides” out there give measly table-scraps of their so-called ‘secrets’, Glen shares his personal experiences in this field, with video tutorials, tangent-guides and even a way to contact him if anyone gets stuck. The interviews he has conducted with professional authors and the likes are an invaluable inspiration as well. Even though I was originally only interested in reading the second half of the book, there was literally a ton of new value on every page, and I learned things that in 5 years as a web designer I had never yet heard of. I have also finished reading the ebook. Definitely a great book for those planning on earning a living online. There is good solid information on how to set up blogs and mini-sites and really earn an income. The great thing is that Glen has not made his money by teaching how to make money. He set up mini-sites and earned affiliate commissions just like everyone else can.
It really is a step-by-step blueprint to online profits.

I have been a reader of your blog for a while but this is the first time I have commented. I purchased your ebook when you released it, read it a couple of times and decided to set up a minisite. I spent a few hours researching and came across a product I liked and found a key word i considered to be relatively uncompetitive, I spent Thursday and Friday last week setting up the site and then spent Friday evening and Saturday building some backlinks. I haven’t touched it until today. I logged into my analytics account and checked my stats, I have had vistors! I searched for my chosen keyword and I was surprised to see I am already on the first page of Google. But even better I just checked my Clickbank account to find out I made my first sale yesterday!!!

I want everyone to know this: Mr.Glen is really and trully kind individual and very patience in his dealing with People. I bought the ebook last week but have just been able to begin reading it today. I have not registered for clickbank yet, so I have not fully followed your directions, but I did look for affiliate programs of products I have purchased and been pleased with in the past. For one in particular, I have found a decent keyphrase based on your criteria, but the registration for their affiliate program requires input of an existing url and the current number of daily pageviews. –The minimum selection is 150 daily pageviews–
Might it be worthwhile to create the minisite and direct visitors to the intended affiliate without an affiliate link until I can generate 150 daily views and properly sign up?
None of this will keep me from fully following your written advice as well, but this was just one of my early inspirations.

I Facebooked Glen 2 days ago for help on a pretty
hefty topic (keep in mind that I haven’t bought Cloud
Living or a single other thing from him, even through an
affiliate link) and he totally set me straight.

Also, keep in mind that I’ve spent over R50 000 on bullshit
‘make money online’ crap in the past. Don’t get me
wrong, the training is insane, the support is great, but there
are 3 things missing from that approach:
1. The whole ‘make money online’ niche is INSANELY
competitive and saturated
2. It’s an industry of blind leading the blind where even if you’re
making $1 a year, you’re encouraged to teach others how to make
money. Seriously.
3. And, most importantly, the people in it just simply don’t care.

So at what point do you know if you are wasting your time on a given site and move on from it? How long should I build links and promote a website if its not making any money for me before I scrap it and move on?

Hey, sounds like you’ve had some great success — congrats to you for creating something to keep you out of the corporate scene. Much of that out there today is just a petri dish for corruption.
I am interested in deriving an income from “The Cloud” as well. However, I am not as interested in all the technical aspects of it (editing) as I am in the creating (writing, blogging, videos) and directing the building of an extreme value producing medium for many people, and a great base for an income for myself as well as a platform to create a new life of travel, speaking, and philanthropy.
In other words, I am the big picture thinker and develop great things when I don’t get bogged down in the details. Sometimes I look at the work ahead and see “DETAIL, DETAIL, and more DETAIL”. And specifically, a lot of technical things that I think I would like to have someone else perform — blog and internet and HTML, etc., as well as video editing, and the list goes on and on.
What is your advice for starting with a mindset of outsourcing all of these technical (and regular maintenance) components? I am not technically inept, in fact, I have a high aptitude for the technical. However, it is not where I want to dwell (in the details).

I’m really frustrated. I’ve tried and tried and tried to figure out how to get your template–yes, I did download “Free Affiliate Landing Page and have read it several times. I even asked for help at HostGator. The technician was very nice and said he’d look at your site even though it was outside HostGator’s purview. He then said he couldn’t find any way to help me. I was so enthusiastic when I got Cloud Living–I found a terrific product that I can morally and ethically stand behind and great key words, plus I have a background in writing promotional copy. I have downloaded WordPress through HostGator and also downloaded it’s Web Disk. I’ve spent hours and hours trying to figure this out, then have gone to other site builders but can’t find anything that I think meets my needs. Obviously I’m new to being an affiliate and have never put together a website, but I thought your ebook was written for rank beginners, which is why I purchased it.
Perhaps I simply missing something right under my nose, but at this point I just can’t wrestle with the problem alone anymore. Please, please help; I hate to give up on this.

Just finished Cloud Living and it was really great! I am pretty familiar with SEO and setting up blogs, but I still learned a whole lot from this e-book. The minisite section was especially informative and really straight-forward. It was absolutely worth the investment and I will definitely be recommending the e-book to others.
The only thing I have to mention is your constant reminders of the fact that you are English. At first it was funny, but then it got rather insulting. Not all Americans are ignorant and uncultured!

I downloaded the minisite .zip from the Cloudliving book and tried to set up a minisite using it. It didn’t work. Is anyone else having this problem? Are there any updates or known fault remedies which I should be aware of?

This is awesome man! I love seeing someone young doing so well for themselves already. I eventually got around to this “internet” thing in my mid/late 20′s (but I REALLY wish I would have grabbed on to it while I was in college… I’d be in a much different place right now haha). I’m digging your “cloud” term too. What a cool way to put it.

Hi everyone, i started Affiliate Marketing about 18 months ago, i’ve earned bits and bobs over this period but nothing to speak of. I’ve just started blogging using blogger and hubpages, i’ve also dabbled with building a few websites,i’m a determined person and i wont give up on my quest for financial freedom. I totally live and breathe my goals everyday,its the first thing i think about and also the last, everyday. I’m going to grab this book as i need a better insight into how things work. I’ve got a little experience building sites etcetera, i think this will be the last piece of the jigsaw for me. I’m so glad i came across this and i have loved reading everyone’s comments.

I’ve been burned more than once by poorly written e-books that merely regurgitate information from other sources. How about making a 3-5 page preview section available? They don’t even have to be sequential but $37 is a lot for me to spend on a dead-tree book, much less for something that I have to print myself.
You were asked quite a while ago for a sample text and have not yet obliged. I won’t be sending you any money until I can ‘flip through’ a representative sample.

Hey i just downloaded the book.
I’ve heard some great things about it.
I haven’t started reading it but i wanted to tell you that when i transferred the book to my nook, the title of the book (cloud living) didn’t come through. It showed up as just “1″. Luckily all my books are categorized onto shelves and i figured out that “1″ must be the cloud living book.
I know this is a small thing, but just thought it might help others who like to read PDF’s and e-books on their e-readers. Thanks and looking forward to promoting this book too once i give it a whirl…
