We are now onto Round 5 of the Personal Development Face-Off and I’m sad to say that this may be one of the last ones for a while (explanation at the end). This Face-Off has became a great success with over 600 votes for the first four rounds combined.
As an added bit of fun, it would be great if you could vote for your favourite answers in the poll below. In this fourth round we have Henrik Edberg and Luciano Passuello, two of the nicest guys in the business.

Henrik Edberg is the highly creative and genuinely helpful author of Positivity Blog which has over 10,000 subscribers and is a regular read of mine.
Luciano Passuello is the blogger behind Litemind, a site that helps you use your mind more effeciently and get more power from that brain of yours.

| Do the most important/most uncomfortable thing first thing in the morning. Then the rest of the day will feel lighter and easier to work through. | Time boxing (setting a fixed time period to work on a task). | To you, what is the meaning / purpose of life? |
|
| To grow. To help other people out. And also, to have fun. | To become aware. The more awareness you bring to your life (of yourself and of the world around you), the closer you’ll get to the truth and to ‘right living’. And no one can tell you what that really means — only your own awareness. |
| What advice would you give a shy person who wants to become confident? | |
| Realize that other people don’t care too much about what you do or say (they are busy worrying about what people may think of them). Act as if you are confident in social situations and get experiences that proves to your mind that you don’t have to be shy and people will be nice and kind towards you most of the time. | To remind ourselves that we’re all in the same boat, and that, if you think about it, there’s really no separation between ‘we’ and ‘them’. |
| How would you encourage someone to stay focused on their goals? | |
| Write them down and review that piece of paper often. It also helps to have support from other people who are focused on similar goals. | Be clear about the whys of their goals and adopt a regular review process, so that they never get them out of sight for too long. |
| What is the main criteria for a successful relationship? | |
| Like yourself. Be open and clear in your communication. | The awareness of choice. Don’t take any relationship for granted, and always be conscious that everyone is free to walk out if so they like. |

The Future of the Face-Off
I like to think this has been a great success but I fear that the face-off is drawing to a close. We’ve had five rounds now which means 10 excellent minds have come together and offered some great advice. I would love to keep this going but I honestly just don’t know who to ask.
Maybe I haven’t been in this niche for very long, but it seems there are a shortage of people dedicated to writing excellent content on a regular basis, that genuinely want to help. I have emailed the likes of Steve Pavlina, Jay White (Dumb Little Man), Gina Trapani (ex-Life Hacker) and even Tina Su (ThinkSimpleNow) but some simply didn’t respond or refused to take part. That’s fair enough but I guess I expected some people to be a bit more social.
So it’s over to you guys…should I end the series here or can you recommend some people to ask to be involved. I would love to shoot Mary an email, I just don’t know who I could ‘put her up against’. Heck, maybe I’ll take part
Keep going Glen. Put yourself on here as well – it would be interesting. Keep plugging away for more people and they will start to come here. It’s an interesting and informative series.
Thanks Mike, I’ll see what I can come up with
Hiya
This is a great round, Glen and a great series too.
Wasn’t easy to decide on a winner. Both had good responses.
I agree with Mike CJ – take part in a round.
Thanks
Jens
Thanks for the response, they are getting difficult aren’t they
I don’t think I could take if if I lost on my own site haha
(joke)
I love the concept. Hope you can keep it going
Another great round. Great answers on both sides.
I absolutely loved the Face Offs. While I can’t suggest any new names, why don’t you start new face offs? Like finance/money face off or relationship face offs, mommy face offs etc with a relevant set of questions.
All these blokes… how about some chick-on-chick action?! Ladies, lets get in the ring! Woo hoo! I’ll take Mary on…
keep looking Glen, someone will do it. And I agree with CathD, get some girls up there.
I’m with Cath on this… you’ve featured only guys so far! What about the women? For that matter, what about the newbies? I’d like to learn more about some of the new players out there.
To that end, I’ll throw my hat in the ring. Bring it girls.
How about Sherri, at Serene Journey? Or Lisa, at Mommy Mystic? Or Evelyn, at Attraction Mind Map? Daphne… Nadia… I could go on for days here.
Don’t be shy, Glen… most of us don’t bite.
I have emailed women, just funnily not one of them responded. Maybe you guys think that I bite
Coolio, I’ll send out some emails tomorrow
Hi Glen,
It’s got very much to do with what’s your criteria (specifically) for someone to be featured here.
Cheers~
Mark
Hey Mark, I’m not sure I understand your comment…
Hi Glen,
I’m sorry I wasn’t clear in my previous comment.
What I was trying to say is, you have a huge list of personal development blogs on this blog. Have you approached all of them yet? If not, is it because (I’m just assuming) you’re featuring only well-known bloggers with a huge following? I understand not all bloggers listed on your PD blog list are as pre-eminent as the 10 bloggers you’ve featured so far.
But if you have already emailed all of them, check out this other list top 100 PD blogs to see who you’ve missed.
100 Blogs That Will Inspire You to Be a Better Person
Alternatively, I think Avani-Mehta has made some very good suggestions. Perhaps you might want to consider.
And if you decide to start a Finance/Money Face-Off, here’s a list of the Top 100 Personal Finance Blogs you should go through.
I’d love to see a Finance/Money Face-Off.
All the best!
Cheers~
Mark
Thank you so much for the opportunity to be a part of this. It’s really an honor to be featured together with Henrik, who’s one of the first bloggers I started following, and is surely among the ones I respect the most.
As for the future face-offs, I really hope this is not the last one, as I’ve been enjoying them all!
THESE EACE OFF THING JUST AFFIRMED WHAT WE …WISE INDIANS ALREADY KNOW!!!!! ANYWAY ITS GOOD TO SEE IT IN PRINT
Hi Glen,
Maybe you should take part in it yourself. It will be great to see your replies to the questions in the round off.
Cheers

Hey Glen!
Enjoyed this one in particular, and I voted for Luciano. Agreed with Lisis above, there are a few up and comers in this field that I really enjoy, although they’re relatively new. Lisis named most of them, you could also try Mike at lovetospare.com. She also mentioned Daphne and Nadia, but didn’t give their websites. In case you don’t know them they’re at joyfuldays.com and happylotus.com
I concur, there are so many great women out there! Let’s hear it from them. Why not ask some of the people who are commenting in this exact thread? It doesn’t need to be a big name for it to be enlightening or entertaining.
It would also help promote the little guys & gals, and just help us build a bigger personal development community.
You might have to reach out to some less well-known bloggers, but I’ve got to think there are tons of people who could make it interesting. I’ll do a face-off on just about any topic.
I appreciate the wisdom of both Luciano and Henrik. Each answer is relevant to each question depending on the needs and circumstances of the one being helped. The answers do provide a unique window into the mind and posture of both men. Wisdom has many faces, and yet we are all just one thread of perception in the web of life.
I’m with Mark Foo – you have a great list of people on your PD blog page – why not feature each of them?
Be persistent with the big guys – if you focus on it, it will happen!
Danelle Ice /Homemaker Barbi
Although I’m somewhat new compared to all the other veteran bloggers, I would be happy to participate.
Good questions and good answers. Keeping it simple and great!
I must agree with you that there are shortage of people in writing an excellent content. I’m very thankful for face-off because I came to know more honest people who write what they mean.
I wish you the best luck and keep it plugging
Glen
Hi. I vote to keep this going and would be happy to contribute to a Face-Off as well. I like to think that I write reasonably well. I’ve never been lacking for opinions.
