This is wonderful! It reinforces what the "New Thought" leaders like Holmes, Haanel, and others have always taught --- visualization is key when it comes to success. Training your mind to experience the positive outcome will manifest itself in your outer experience. The subconscious mind has not ability to distinguish what is real and what isn't. It just obeys what you put there. This is a wonderful technique to use when here is an outcome you want to experience. Make it as real as possible, including feelings, colors, and logical implementation of events leading to the success of that experience. I enjoyed how you led into the exercise. Great job!

Wonderfully explained, Glen. I often use that mind power by writing the six most important tasks for the next day, just before sleep. It sets my subconscious to work on aligning my day for achieving them. Whenever I remember to do this little exercise, those very 6 tasks always get done, somehow and as if by magic sometimes! :)

"The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn. The bird waits in the egg. In the highest vision of a soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities. Your circumstances may be disagreeable, but they shall not remain so if you only perceive an ideal and strive to reach it. You can't travel within and stand still without. When you truly change within, these changes will be reflected (in time) in your outer world." [From As A Man Thinketh So Is He" by James Allen, it available at my friend's list of free Mind Power books http://freemindpowerbooks.com]

My own book (Time For My Life) was based on the premise of changing our life, habit by habit. It really is the only effective way to make profound, long-term changes for ourselves.

Cheers,
Thea

Another great tool from Maltz's book.

You did well describing the visualization process. It is truly one action step that anyone can take to improve many areas in their lives.

Visualization is a powerful tool, read any Law of Attraction book by Ester and Jerry Hicks, fabulous! Another must read on this topic is The Power of the Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy. Enjoy!

This is a great technique. I train people to ride bicycle centuries (100 mile races) and have been using this technique for many years.

Seeing something happen makes it familiar to us and takes away the unknown. The way i describe it is that by visualizing something you are making it happen before it does happen!

I've heard about this technique when I watched a series of episode in self improvement from the Motivational speaker Ibrahim El fikky. And actually I've used it to improve my football skills and to be able to do some cristiano ronaldo's football tricks. I think we call this technique visualisation. In the book nlp the new technology of achievement i've read that it's possible to change the feelings that taughts create on you using those techniques of visualisation. You change the structure of the taught to change the experience and the feeling it creates on you :)
Great Article Glen !

The most fascinating part of this visualization technique is when you "zoom out of your own body", you leave your perceived reality with perceived limitations just long enough to realize you have full control over "yourself" and what you can accomplish in this world.
