Hey man,

Glen no longer writes here, but I'd like to welcome you to PluginID!

It's a long road to getting to the place where you can get back to your core identity, so to speak. You're going to have to question a lot of the things you've believed so far in life, and it's not pretty.

My latest post can help with that :) But if you need any more help, by all means, send me an email at brettpluginID at gmail.com.

At any rate, I wish you luck!

Hi Glen
I found your blog today and this is my first post here.

I have to say you nailed it with this post, it's almost scary.
This article struck me like a blazing arrow and, unfortunately, I can really relate to it.
I think you made me realise that I need to change, for my own sake, to feel better with myself.
I almost feel like I've come to a point where all I have left is my big ego.
And it is eating me up from inside because it is taking so much time and power from me.

I'm very, very judgemental. I've grown into being it due to myself and also due to my former friends, which too were very judgemental.

Regarding the guiding steps on how to plug back in to your core identity I think you could put in "Don't judge others" or "Try stop being judgemental" with your first step "Accept judgements".

What do you think?
I'm gonna try and follow these steps starting today, I'm tired of identifying myself with my expensive clothes and electronics, since they're obviously not my core self.

Thank you

I'm glad there are PD sites that address this topic of who we truly are. I'm also happy you have read from some of Tolle's teachings and maybe deeper ones too. Excellent Post Glen!

[...] It’s funny, because if you believe in the scientific theory of evolution (which I do) which states that we evolved from apes then something went wrong. Somewhere along the line we went from these peaceful, happy, care-free apes to humans with problems, standards and people to impress. In my mind, all of this stems from the ego and as our intelligence grew and species evolved - tools we used for survival such as our minds started to take over and control our thoughts and actions rather than just being a tool. I wrote a post on the ego which you can read more about in ‘The Path of Identity‘. [...]
