44 Essential Personal Development Posts from ‘08

Glen / 31 Comments / December 30th, 2008 / Subscribe via RSS

2008 has been by far the best year of my life. I have hundreds of stories to tell, tons of new friends and I’m rounding up the experience of a life-time over here in South Africa. I started PluginID around 6 months into 2008 and it’s amazing how quickly time goes by when you work hard and enjoy the journey. It honestly feels like yesterday when I registered the domain.

Since being heavily doused in the ‘Personal Development‘ niche, I’ve came across some amazing people, blogs and content. To end of the year with PluginID readers, I wanted to share some of the best content I’ve read in the last 12 months based on a number of different topics.

I know some of these sites won’t like to be labeled with the term ‘Personal Development’ so take each site for what you will. However, labeled or not, the following blogs have consistently produced brilliant content and I’ve picked out some of my favorites to highlight below.

This is an excellent list Glenn, thank you for including me. I see a couple of blogs I haven’t visited before; I’ll visit them as soon as I get back from the gym. Happy New Year!

Thank you for the mention. I find it amusing that my post scored “income” category — I’d like to think I’m doing good for my goal to unify spiritual growth and worldly success.

Happy New Year to you and your readers, here is to our increasing prosperity and joy!

Howdy Glen,

This is an ultimate list you have here to end 2008 with, good job! Love the life articles that doesn’t even have to pertain to business, nice find!

Guess I have some reading to do. I missed a hell of a lot of these!

This is a great list! Thanks for putting it together. I’ve read a couple of these but not near enough so I guess I’ve got my reading cut out for me this weekend. :)

Comment by Glen

Hehe, you are welcome Lena!

Great post Glen. I’ll be sure to check out these articles, some of the titles look like interesting reads.

I wonder where the inspiration came to you to write up a post like this Glen. Hmmm :P

Comment by Glen

The inspiration? It just came from my head to be completely honest, I often do similar style posts in the internet marketing niche on my other blog. I take it you wrote something like this recently?

If so, I didn’t steal any ideas, I started writing this literally 2 minutes after I thought of doing it :)

I found it curious that I had a post titled ‘43 posts from the blogosphere’ to end 2008 with and a week later here was 44 personal development posts on PluginID. I had a laugh that the number was 44 and it seemed quite coincidental. I just found it amusing. :)

(Comments wont nest below this level)

I’ve just checked back to your site now and remember reading it. 100% definitely not an inspiration for my post. I just wanted to round up all my bookmarks in one place, it is coincidental that it ended up at 44.

I don’t think any of the links are the same. That is just what happens when there are millions of blogs out there, people are going to post similar content.

Great list. I’m impressed by how well you follow the blogosphere. That’s a legitimate accomplishment in its own right.

I read the, “How to Be a Man” post by Steve thanks to your list. I was pretty much blown away by it. Thanks for sharing.

Comment by Denise

This is quite a list you’ve compiled Glen. Even though some of these sites are new to me, there is still quite a bit of reading to catch up on. Glad to hear you’re enjoying your life’s journey. The best to you in 2009.
