Self-perception and Change

Have you ever come across that advice about looking at yourself in the mirror in the morning and telling yourself that you look and feel good so that you will for the rest of the day? Many people swear by this suggestion. I’ve done similar things from time to time – for instance, telling myself that I feel good when, in fact, I have a bad cold and a severe headache. If you’re thinking about changing your attitude or your life to a more positive one, this might be an effective approach for you. Oliver Burkeman, a writer from The Guardian, has a very interesting article on this entitled “This column will change your life: self-perception theory.”
